Cultural Revolution in Frýdek-Místek: Nová Osmička to open its gates in 2026
Date of issue: December 13, 2025
The former textile factory complex, until now known as "Neumann Brothers Spinning Mill - Osmička," passed into the ownership of Love production s.r.o. in September, led by Kamil Rudolf, who is the director of the Beats for Love and Sweetsen fest festivals and the operator of the Stoun club. The new owner presented his vision and plans, which have the ambition to transform the space into one of the most prominent cultural and community centers in the region.
We plan to sensitively transform the complex into a modern center offering a wide range of social events and community experiences that will benefit both local residents and visitors from further afield. We feel great potential here to cross the borders of the region and offer a place that will be interesting not only for its program and facilities, but also for its design solution, explained the idea Kamil Rudolf, Managing Director of Love production s.r.o.
The complex of the former Slezan plant 08 on Staroměstská Street will be transformed into a modern community center where enthusiasts of various activities from all age categories will meet.
I consider the integration of this large unused space into the life of the city to be a great success and confirmation that the Memorandum signed between Frýdek-Místek and Slezan Holding almost 10 years ago is the right direction for the development of the city and for opening up previously closed complexes and removing barriers in the city. Thanks to the Memorandum, which was agreed with Slezan by Deputy Mayor Jiří Kajzar, Faunapark is now operating, the municipal police are based in the former textile vocational school, the industrial chateau will be transformed into the headquarters of the Marlenka company, and the public will certainly appreciate the museum, cafe, or company store in this beautiful building. Tauchmann warehouses on Staroměstská Street will be used by Lidl. In cooperation with Slezan, we are planning a boulevard using other Slezan buildings during the construction of a new transport terminal, said Mayor of Frýdek-Místek Petr Korč (Naše Město F-M).
Accessible culture, education, and leisure time in the service of the community
According to plans, Nová Osmička will become a community oasis in the center of Frýdek-Místek as early as May 2026. The organizers plan to open the complex to the public and offer a diverse palette of activities, including relaxing seating and a gastro zone, which will enrich the offering of quality refreshments in the city.
One event or experience every day - that is our motto and goal. Moreover, the vast majority of the program will be available free of charge or with voluntary admission, which guarantees financial accessibility and removes potential barriers to participation, stated Rudolf.
Visitors can look forward to a whole range of sports activities, lessons, and workshops, as well as a number of social and cultural events that will delight visitors of all age groups.
We are thinking of the youngest and oldest visitors with various interests. Therefore, you can experience theatre, a workshop, or a popular music concert, added Pavel Loriš, project manager of Nová Osmička. “We can already confirm events such as the frequently visited Art of Život festival, or the summer Jazz ve městě (Jazz in the City) or Pivopění (Beer Singing), which are very popular with the residents of Frýdek-Místek, listed some of the planned events Rudolf.
Nová Osmička will offer a barrier-free haven for children, adolescents, and adults
The organizers want to focus not only on entertainment but also on the area of education. Visitors from out of town and residents of Frýdek-Místek can look forward to, for example, open-air cinemas, films with public debates, travel lectures, or various workshops.
A unique concept is also the playground called Adventure playground, where we want to offer children the opportunity to spend their free time outdoors, actively and playfully developing their innate creativity, stated Rudolf.
A unique space with a supra-regional reach
The entire complex is currently awaiting gradual and sustainable reconstruction of both indoor and outdoor spaces. Nová Osmička will open its gates to the public at the beginning of next May. Further information about the complex can be found on the website novaosmicka.cz , where you can also share your comments and suggestions.
