The Neumann Brothers’ textile company, founded in 1868, was one of the largest and most modern factories in Frýdek. The spinning mill, built in 1889 - 1890 according to the design of the Swiss architect Sequin Bronner, remains a unique document of the industrial era and an example of high-quality industrial architecture. The building went through a turbulent history – from a period of prosperity between 1890 - 1939 through wartime confiscation and forced German administration to post-war nationalization and integration into the Slezan national enterprise.
Today, a unique opportunity is opening up to restore life to this heritage and transform it into a new cultural and creative center for the city.
A unique cultural and creative center will emerge in Frýdek-Místek that is unparalleled in the region or the Czech Republic.
The area will come to life from May to September with daily programs – from culture, education, and community events to sports. It will include spaces for relaxation, first-class bistros, and specialty coffee. The project will offer a rich program for the public and facilities for local organizations, making it easier for them to create quality activities.
Our goal is to awaken people’s desire to educate themselves, create, and be part of an active community. In the long term, studios, workshops, and rehearsal rooms for creatives could also be established here.
The project is realized by the company Love production s.r.o., which has been active in the field of culture, production, and event dramaturgy since 2014. Over more than ten years of its operation, it has founded and built one of the largest festivals in Europe, organized hundreds of cultural events and artistic tours across the entire Czech Republic, and operates the longest-running Moravian club Stoun. It also annually organizes the charitable festival Sweetsen fest in Frýdek-Místek. The results of Love production prove that it can turn ambitious visions into reality.
