Cultural revolution in Frýdek-Místek: Nová Osmička to open its doors in 2026

The former textile factory complex, still known as "Přádelna bratří Neumannů - Osmička" (Neumann Brothers Spinning Mill - Eight), became the property of Love production s.r.o. in September, headed by Kamil Rudolf, director of the Beats for Love and Sweetsen fest festivals and operator of the Stoun club. The new owner presented his vision and plans, which aim to transform the space into one of the most prominent cultural and community centers in the region. "We plan to sensitively transform the complex into a modern center offering a wide range of social events and community experiences that will be enjoyed by both local residents and visitors from further afield. We see great potential here to go beyond the borders of the region and offer a place that will be interesting not only for its program and facilities, but also for its design," said Kamil Rudolf, managing director of Love production s.r.o., explaining the idea. The former Slezan 08 factory complex on Staroměstská Street will be transformed into a modern community center where fans of various activities of all ages will meet. "I consider the integration of this large unused space into the life of the city to be a great success and confirmation that the Memorandum signed between Frýdek-Místek and Slezan Holding almost 10 years ago is the right direction for the development of the city and for opening up previously closed areas and removing barriers in the city. Thanks to the Memorandum agreed with Slezan by Deputy Mayor Jiří Kajzar, Faunapark is now in operation, the municipal police are based in the former textile school, the industrial chateau will be transformed into the headquarters of Marlenka, and the public will certainly appreciate the museum, café, and company store in this beautiful building. Lidl will use the Tauchmann warehouses on Staroměstská Street. In cooperation with Slezan, we are planning a boulevard using other Slezan buildings in the construction of a new transport terminal," said Frýdek-Místek Mayor Petr Korč (Naše Město F-M). Accessible culture, education, and leisure time at the service of the community According to plans, Nová Osmička will become a community oasis in the center of Frýdek-Místek as early as May 2026. The organizers plan to open the complex to the public and offer a wide range of activities, including a relaxation area and a food court, which will enrich the city's high-quality dining options. "One event or experience every day - that is our motto and goal. In addition, the vast majority of the program will be available free of charge or with a voluntary admission fee, which guarantees financial accessibility and removes any barriers to participation," said Rudolf. Visitors can look forward to a wide range of sports activities, lessons, and workshops, as well as a number of social and cultural events that will delight visitors of all ages. "We are thinking of the youngest and oldest visitors with a wide variety of interests. Therefore, you can experience theater, workshops, or popular music concerts," added Pavel Loriš, head of the Nová Osmička project. "We can already confirm events such as the popular Art of Život festival, or the summer Jazz ve městě (Jazz in the City) and Pivopění (Beer Festival), which are very popular with the people of Frýdek-Místek," said Rudolf, listing some of the upcoming events. Nová Osmička will offer a barrier-free refuge for children, teenagers, and adults The organizers want to focus not only on entertainment, but also on education. Visitors from outside the city and residents of Frýdek-Místek can look forward to summer cinemas, films with public debates, travel lectures, and various workshops.

"Another unique concept is the Adventure Playground, where we want to offer children the opportunity to spend their free time outdoors, actively and playfully developing their innate creativity," said Rudolf.

A unique space with a supra-regional reach The entire complex is currently undergoing a gradual and sustainable renovation of both its interior and exterior spaces. The new Osmička will open its doors to the public at the beginning of May next year.
